A friend of mine saw BC live and said that the guy was the most frantic singer he'd ever seen, too energetic. Weiland seems to blend more, and his voice fits the sound of the band. I agree with the person who noted that it seems good old fashion rock/hard rock is just not being signed and/or played anymore.

I find it hard to "discover" new bands these days. I was doing ok when I still had MTV X (found DIsturbed, Godsmack, Saliva, Rammstein, Linkin Park etc through MTV X), but then the channel got killed! Never mind we have 2 country channels, 3 R&B/rap channels and, it seems, every other channel playing pop rock... noooo, they have to take away the ONE channel playing hard rock/metal. Fuckers! I can't remember the last "new" band I have discovered, b/c there is just no good way to "sample" them anymore it seems.

Of course, as somone else already noted, just because I don't like something I don't necessarily think I have the right to say it sucks... to each his own. After all, I like some stuff I'm sure others think is just hideous. It just seems the ratio of hard rock v. everything else on the radio and TV is soo pathetic well, IT AIN'T FAIR!! Here's what I want/don't want. No nu-metal/emo/rapmetal/shoegazer/boyband/skankychick stuff. I want four or five guys to come out and play some damn rock and roll with a fucking <font size="6">ATTITUDE !!</font>. I want the guitarists to dominate their part of the stage unleashing chords and quick runs. Play the damn guitar like every note comes straight from your gut. And when you do play a solo, build the tension thru the whole damn thing. And at the end of it, have something original to kick it back to the rest of the band with.

I want the rythmn section to be in lockstep with each other. I want it to sound like thunder, and to be able to feel it in my chest.

The singer has to be a skinny guy who looks like he hasn't slept in days. And when he opens his mouth to sing, the agony of his life spills out and sends chills down your spine.

There... let's start a band.
